Spring Equinox

Danika Vautour

Spring is here, bringing with it a quiet sense of renewal. With each passing day, we’re reminded of the warmth that’s just around the corner. There’s something about this season that feels both gentle and refreshing. It’s a time to embrace new beginnings and the simple joys of nature. From the first blooms to the smell of fresh air, Spring invites us to pause and take it all in.

For me, Spring is a chance to breathe new life into my home. I love adding fresh flowers, whether it’s just a few blooms here and there to brighten a corner or a full arrangement from Galbraith Florists. The soft colours bring a warm and welcoming energy after the cold months. It's the little details that make all the difference in a space. I love incorporating colour in a way that can be moved or rearranged depending on the season. Whether it's art, tea towels, or a simple bouquet, these small touches can really tie a space together while celebrating changing seasons. This sentiment is beautifully mirrored in Lynn Wigginton’s painting, which captures the essence of Spring with its depiction of delicate blooming flowers.

With warmer weather on the horizon, I find myself looking forward to picnic season. Lazy afternoons spent outdoors with friends, family, or even just on my own, soaking in the sunshine. There’s something so special about sharing a meal on a blanket, surrounded by the fresh air and all the little details that Spring brings. Capturing these moments through my photography has become a way of celebrating the season’s quiet abundance.

Gardening has also become a part of this slower rhythm. There’s nothing quite like getting your hands in the soil, planting seeds, and watching them take root. It’s a peaceful act that allows me to connect with the earth and the season itself. Each plant is a small reminder that growth takes time, but with patience, something beautiful will unfold.

I’m excited to share this season with you and look forward to the journey ahead. Here’s to a Spring filled with growth, inspiration, and a little extra time spent outdoors.
